Open Board Positions - 2025 Meeting

Here are the positions that are up for election at the coming meeting and the duties involved with each role. There is usually a monthly Board Meeting that lasts about 2 hours in addition to the responsibilities of the role. You must be member in good standing to run.


President Elect: 2 year term, then president for 2 years, then recommended to be a director for 2 years. (4-6 year commitment) Duties: The President-Elect shall, in case of death, absence, resignation, disqualification, refusal or neglect of the President to discharge the duties incumbent upon them, preside and fulfill the duties of the President’s office immediately. They shall perform such other duties, as the Board of Directors shall prescribe.


Secretary: 1 Year term Duties: The Secretary shall serve a term of one (1) year or until a successor shall be elected and qualified, and they take office. The Secretary shall attend all sessions of the Board and all meetings of the Members, and record all votes, resolutions and minutes of all proceedings in a book to be kept for that purpose and shall perform like duties for the standing committees when required. The Secretary shall have custody of all documents and papers belonging to The Association. They shall give, or cause to be given, notice of all meetings of the Board of Directors. The Secretary shall attend to all correspondence of The Association as may be directed by The Association itself, the Board of Directors, or the President of The Association.


Treasurer: 1 year term MUST have accounting background.

Duties: The Treasurer shall have custody of all funds of The Association and shall receive and collect all dues, funds, and assessments, giving their receipt for same, and depositing said funds in the official depositories, procuring from banks a duplicate deposit slip for each deposit made. The Treasurer shall make all payments when duly authorized and shall keep proper books of account, including records of property owned, submitting a written report at each Annual Meeting. The Treasurer shall be prepared to report the financial condition of The Association at any time required.


Water Director: 1 year term.

Duties: Responsible for testing the three wells monthly and taking samples to the state lab. Deals with outages, leaks, and issues for the seasonal water system. Works with the ASA plumber to open, close and repair the system as needed.


Property/Beaches Director: 1 year term.

Duties: Takes care of the beaches and other properties of the ASA. Responsible for things like boat jail, getting beaches ready for the summer, fall cleanups, repairs after damaging storms, hanging signage, etc.


Roads Director: 1 year term.

Duties: Responsible for the 2.5 miles of ASA owned roads. Finding and supervising vendors to do repairs, working with roads committee, dealing with member issues, including vehicles parked on roads, washouts, etc. Speaking with members regarding their concerns, explaining people's responsibility for damage to roads, culverts, etc. Best if a year-round resident.
