Community Information

Here is some general information about the Alton Shores Community and some important applicable state and local laws.

What is the
Alton Shores Association

We are an incorporated neighborhood of seasonal and year round residents located in the shadow of Alton Mountain. Situated between the towns of Gilmanton Iron Works and Alton Bay, there is convenient access to Lake Winnipesaukee, Mount Major, and miles of great summer and winter outdoor recreation.

The Alton Shores Association owns four beach lots, a boat ramp, multiple unimproved lots, 2.5 miles of private roads, and three wells that supply summer water to seasonal residents.

The Rules governing the Roads, Beaches, and Summer Water can be found on the Membership page
