Update For Who is a Member in Good Standing for the 2026 Annual Meeting

To be able to vote, you must be a member in good standing as defined in Article III, Section 5 of the 2025 Alton Shores Association By-Laws as recorded with the Belknap County Registry of Deeds:

The fiscal year of The Association shall begin the first day of January in each year. For

membership in good standing, annual dues must be paid in full on or before April 1st for the

current fiscal period entered therein, and all special assessments must be paid thirty days (30) after notification, unless the payment period is extended by the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors voted unanimously at the June Board Meeting to extend the date of payment to be considered a member in good standing from April 1, 2026 to May 29, 2026 to facilitate letting more people vote at the meeting. We chose this date because it is the date mentioned in the The Annual Meeting Notice (Article V, Section 1b) where written notice must be mailed or served to all members entitled to vote at least 30 days prior to the meeting (May 29, 2026.

NOTICE OF THE 2026 ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERSALTON SHORES ASSOCIATION, INC.

The Annual Meeting of Members of the Alton Shores Association, Inc. will be held on:

Sunday, June 28, 2026 (the last Sunday in June)

at 9:00 AM

Central School in Alton, New Hampshire

Please arrive early to allow time for member check-in and verification so the meeting may begin promptly at 9:00 AM.

In accordance with the By-Laws of the Association, only Members in good standing may vote, meaning owners of qualifying developed property whose dues and any special assessments were paid by April 1 (unless extended by the Board), with one vote allowed per property either in person or by written proxy.

Agenda

• Acceptance of the minutes from prior Annual Meeting(s)

• Old Business – updates from members of the Board of Directors regarding matters since the prior Annual Meeting

• New Business – discussion of plans and business for the coming year from each Board member if applicable.

• Open forum for Members to ask questions and make motions from the floor regarding Association matters. Members in good standing will go first

• Nominations for Board of Directors

• Election of Board Members

• Adjournment

As provided in the By-Laws, the Annual Meeting may transact such other business as may properly come before the membership, including matters relating to Association operations, roads, beaches, the water system, dues, assessments, and other community issues.

During member discussion periods, Members in good standing will be recognized first, followed by other attendees as time permits. To allow all participants an opportunity to speak, comments may be limited to three (3) minutes per speaker unless extended by the Chair. Robert’s Rules of Order will be used as general procedural guidelines for the meeting.

This is the Association’s regularly scheduled Annual Meeting, and participation by all Members is encouraged.

Spring Update

Lawsuits:

The lawsuits against the ASA are all in the discovery phase. No further update available.

Beaches:

We are in the process of cleaning up the beaches for the season. Please use the Contact US form to let us know about any issues you see. Beach 3 needs repair and we are looking for vendors who can help us get an affordable design accepted by DHS to channel the water so it doesn't erode the beach.

There have also been several trees removed/trimmed at various beaches

We applied for a sand permit with the state to add sand to beach 3

Water System:

DO NOT TURN ON WATER TO YOUR COTTAGE UNTIL YOU GET THE ALL CLEAR! Water should be up soon, but we just lost all the water in the Nutter Well storage tank when someone turned on the water before it was ready. Huge leak.

Other things going on with water:

• We passed the NH DES inspection.

• Wells have been sanitized.

• Storage tanks are full.

• Filling of the main supply lines has begun.

• We are in the process of finding and repairing leaks. Leak repair will continue this week.

• The state of New Hampshire changed their requirements this year. New policy is all paperwork needs to be completed before opening the system.

• Planning on taking the paperwork and water samples to Concord on Monday May 18.

Roads:

Road work on Parandes Drive. will start the week of May 25^th (weather permitting). The vendor estimates 5-7 days work. After that, repairs will start on Wendy Drive. as discussed at the Annual meeting. Sadly, the early onset of winter pushed the repairs until spring. We will also be looking at potholes on Stephanie and Scott as well as other damage from winter.

Annual Meeting:

It is always on the last Sunday of June. This year that means June 28, 2026 at 9:00 AM. Please arrive early so we can start on time. It will be at the Central School in Alton, where it was held last year. If anyone has an agenda item they would like to add, please use the  Contact US to let us know at least 33 days prior to the meeting.

Treasurer

Dues were supposed to be paid by April 1, 2026. Invoices and reminders have been sent out. Boat ramp keys and kayak stickers have been mailed out.
