The Shores

Keep up what's happening at Alton Shores and in the area!

The early onset of snow and frigid temperatures has postponed the planned roadwork until after mud season in the spring. Unfortunately, by the time we could commit to Clairmont to have the work done, there were a lot of other jobs in front of us and they ran out of good weather. If you have any questions, fill out the CONACT US form on the website: https://www.altonshores.com/contact-8

With the most of the leaves down, this is a friendly reminder to clean and maintain the culverts and storm ditches in front of your property and under your driveway. NEVER blow or rake leaves into the culverts - it clogs them. The dump has an area to drop off leaves for free if you don't have any area on your lot to put them.

The upkeep of the culverts and ditches is essential for the proper drainage and flow of water. This will help extend the lifespan of our roads and help prevent washouts. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!! Any issue or hardship, send in a Contact US form and we will try to round up some volunteers to help out.

Note: Dave Clairmont has us on his schedule to start working on Wendy and Parandes late November or beginning of December weather permitting.

Thanks,

Paul

The ASA Board voted tonight to not collect the $275 that was proposed and voted on at Part 2 of the 2025 Annual Meeting on advice of counsel due to the recent lawsuit referenced in a previous update. The decision of the Board is in no way intended as an admission of wrongdoing or improper procedure but rather a precaution in consideration of the pending litigation.

And since none of the monies we have in our road accounts were specifically designated for plowing, we have no money to plow this winter.

For people who have paid the $275, we will return your check if it has not been deposited. If it has been deposited, we can either cut you a check or credit the $275 to your 2026 dues. Please send an email to our Treasurer at Dianemalburne@yahoo.com or fill out a Contact Us form to let Diane know which you prefer.

If you have any questions, please fill out the Contact Us form on the website.
